Create a Link to a File
To create a link to a file:
- Highlight the text that you want to convert into a hyperlink.
- Click on the
("Insert/Edit Link") button on the toolbar. - In the General tab of the "Insert/Edit Link" dialog, click on the
("Browse Server") button. - a) Select an existing file on the web server in the Resources Browser window. You may need to navigate to another folder to find the file you are looking for.
OR
b) Upload a new file:
- Click on the Browse... button at the bottom of the Resources Browser window.
- Select a file from your hard drive.
- Click on the Upload button (in the Resources Browser).
- Once uploaded, you can select the new file.
- Click on Insert
When uploading files, please consider which folder you are uploading to. It is a good idea to set up a few appropriately named folders to neatly organise your files.
Note: If you delete or move a file using the Resources Browser any links to that file will be broken. Always remove links to a file from all web pages before moving the file or deleting it from the web server.
