Clear formatting from text

If you have any difficulty with changing the formatting or style that has been applied to a segment of text, often the quickest solution is to remove the formatting entirely and start afresh. There are two simple ways to achieve this, depending on the circumstances:

To remove formatting from a short section of text within a paragraph:

1. Select the problematic section of text.
2. Click on the "Remove formatting" button (eraser icon).

To remove formatting from one or more paragraphs of text (including other elements, such as tables, bullets, etc.):

1. Select the problematic text.
2. Press Ctrl-X or click on the Cut button.
3. Click on the "Paste as plain text" button.
4. Paste the text into the dialog window by pressing Ctrl+V.
5. Click on the OK button.
